Includes, but is not limited to: replacement of an existing 12" CMP drain pipe with a new 12" RCP drain pipe, replacement of an existing 18" CMP culvert with a new 18" RCP culvert, replacement of existing headwalls, installation of steel beam guardrail on both sides of Shawsheen Street, removal of existing rip rap from the upstream side of the culvert, restoration of pavement in disturbed roadway areas, traffic management, erosion controls, control of water, and related work. The Project site is located approximately 100 feet southwest of Sullivan Parkway and approximately 655 feet northeast of the Whipple Road/Shawsheen Street intersection.
The work under this contract consists of furnishing all necessary labor, materials, tools, and equipment to
complete drainage infrastructure replacements as described under the Drainage Infrastructure
Replacement Project Near #31 Shawsheen Street, Contract PW-18-09. The work includes but is not
limited to, replacement of an existing 18-inch CMP culvert with a new 18-inch reinforced concrete pipe
(RCP) culvert, replacement of an existing 12-inch CMP drain pipe with a new 12-inch RCP drain pipe,
replacement of existing concrete block headwalls with new concrete headwalls, replacement of existing
jersey barriers with steel beam guardrail, sawcutting, removal, and disposal of existing pavement,
reconstruction of existing pavement at the culvert locations, and all incidental work necessary to complete
the work as described herein. Work also includes control of water during construction and temporary
traffic control. No guarantees are made for the amount of Work to be done. Final quantities will be
determined by the Engineer based on bid pricing received. The Owner does not guarantee a specific
quantity to be purchased, or items to be used.
