Renovation of a mixed-use development in Iowa City, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

This project will renovate the Burge Market Place flooring, walls and ceiling in selected areas. The project involves renovation of the existing Burge Market Place servery and dining areas, with work consisting of, but not limited to: Architectural: Replace existing quarry tile with new resilient flooring, grid ceilings with new acoustical lay-in ceilings, luminous ceiling-skylight panels, glazed exterior storefront units, wall and column tile finishes, doors, frames and hardware, casework and countertops, and cashier stand(s). Modify existing interior partitions. Remove and reinstall existing foodservice equipment, turnstiles and furnishings. Install new roller window shades, interior railings, signage and foodservice equipment. Fire Suppression: Modify existing system and sprinkler heads in conjunction with ceiling renovations. Plumbing: Modify existing plumbing in conjunction with foodservice equipment renovations. HVAC: Modify existing ducts and diffusers in conjunction with ceiling renovations. Electrical: Replace and modify existing light fixtures in various locations. Modify existing fire alarm devices and speakers in conjunction with ceiling renovations. Modify existing power receptacles and connections in conjunction with wall renovations and foodservice equipment modifications. Modify existing access control in conjunction with door modification. Telecommunications: Modify existing telecom system in conjunction with the area renovations. Iowa Construction Sales Tax Exemption Certificates will be provided on this project. Bid shall be accompanied by bid security, as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. Bid security shall be agreed upon as the measure of liquidated damages which the Owner will sustain by failure, neglect, or refusal of bidder to deliver a signed contract stipulating performance of the Work in unqualified compliance with the Contract Documents. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) calendar days after the date of opening. The Board of Regents, State of Iowa seeks to provide opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 73 of the Code of Iowa. This project has a participation goal of 10% for certified Targeted Small Businesses as specified in the Project Requirements. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa. The Board of Regents, State of Iowa reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities, and to accept that bid which is deemed in the best interest of the Owner.
