Site work for a water / sewer project in Fort Worth, Texas. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The three bids received were significantly higher than the engineer's opinion of probable construction cost of $12,000,000, and exceeded available funding. Therefore, staff recommends rejection of all bids. If approved, staff will redesign and restructure the contract plans and specifications re-aligning the proposed sewer line to reduce the depth of installation and re-advertise the project at a future date. The major work will consist of the (approximate) following: 11,621 LF 48" Fiberglass Sewer Pipe (Class SN-72), By Open Cut 2,700 LF 48" Fiberglass Sewer Pipe (Class SN-72), By Other Than Open Cut 1,153 LF 48" Fiberglass Pressure Sewer Pipe, (Class SN72, PN150) PREQUALIFICATION The improvements included in this project must be performed by a contractor who is pre- qualified by the City at the time of bid opening. The procedures for qualification and pre- qualification are outlined in the Section 00 21 13 - INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS City reserves the right to waive irregularities and to accept or reject bids.
