This contract is for the landscape planting and enhancement of the Trinity Road Tunnel Project at Youth Center Drive in Wake County in Division 5, as directed by the Engineer. The Contractor will also be responsible for traffic control. All work and materials shall be in accordance with the provisions of the General Guidelines of this contract, the Project Special Provisions, the North Carolina Department of Transportation 2018 Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures, the North Carolina Department of Transportation 2018 Roadway Standards Drawings, and the current edition of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), with the exception that bid bonds are not required. The quantities stated in the Bid Form are estimates and are not guaranteed. The Contractor shall keep himself fully informed of all Federal, State and local laws, ordinances, and regulations, and shall comply with the provisions of Section 107 of the Standard Specifications. There will not be a mandatory pre-bid conference for this project. For further description, copies of plans are available by email. PRE-QUALIFICATION Any firm that wishes to perform work on this POC as either the prime contractor or as a subcontractor must be prequalified for the type work they wish to perform (including but not necessarily limited to NCDOT Work Code 001670 Landscape Planting). Any contractor identified as working outside their expertise may be considered in default of contract. Firms that wish to bid on these projects as the prime contractor must be prequalified as either a Bidder or Purchase Order Contract (POC) Prime Contractor prior to submitting the bid. Firms that wish to perform as a subcontractor to the prime contractor must be prequalified prior to beginning work on the project. The date of availability for initial planting is February 25, 2019 or Upon Issuance of a Purchase Order. The completion date for the initial planting is March 15, 2019. Submit with bid as an attachment, the proposed schedule for plant installation and the sources and contact information for all plant material to ensure availability. Planting will NOT be allowed between April 1 and October 15 unless directed by the Engineer. The date of availability for replacement planting is October 15, 2019. The completion date for the replacement planting is December 31, 2019. Liquidated damages for these seasonal limitations and intermediate contract times are One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per calendar day.
