*As of March 10, 2022, construction is underway. **Great Hills Constructors (480) 293-3000) is the collective name of the Joint Venture between Archer Western and Sundt Construction** The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (Mobility Authority) anticipates beginning the procurement process to hire a Design-Build Contractor to design and construct the 183 North Mobility Project with the issuance of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ). The Mobility Authority invites all qualified entities to provide a Statement of Qualifications in accordance with the RFQ once it is issued. The 183 North Mobility Project extends from MoPac (State Loop 1) to SH45/RM620, a distance of approximately nine miles. It includes the construction of four express lanes (two in each direction) and widening of the existing US 183, as required, to bring the total number of general purpose lanes to four in each direction. Other improvements include the addition of direct connectors between the existing express lanes on MoPac and the new express lanes on US 183, shared-use path segments near Pond Springs Drive, new sidewalks and cross-street connections for bicycles/pedestrians, and other improvements and widening necessary for connections to the improvements. The US 183 widening will be non-tolled and owned and operated by TxDOT. It is anticipated that the Mobility Authority will utilize a two-step procurement process. This process will involve submission of a Statement of Qualifications which will be used to develop a shortlist of the best qualified Proposers.
