Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Tacoma, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 3,200-square-foot fitness / recreation center.
Project no: 470022 All questions must be submitted within the Pierce County ProcureWare software, under the Clarifications Tab not later than 4:00 PM, Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Bidders must be registered in the ProcureWare software in order to submit questions. The project consists of civil work, structural upgrades, HVAC and associated mechanical upgrades, plumbing and electrical installations, as well as renovations and design improvements to divide the current space into five Hockey Team Rooms. The work proposed includes all the necessary *permits, fees, materials, equipment, labor, and related items to construct improvements to the Sprinker Recreation Center Building located at 14824 C St S, Tacoma, WA 98444. * Pierce County will pay fees for the General Building Permit and Plan Review for this project. The contractor is responsible for any specialty or other permits required for this project and shall include such fees in his bid. $1,494,000.00 not including Washington State Sales Tax. All questions must be submitted within the Pierce County ProcureWare software, under the Clarifications Tab not later than 4:00 PM, Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Bidders must be registered in the ProcureWare software in order to submit questions. Instructions for Pierce County ProcureWare registration. Any questions regarding the project technical details and specifications, clarifications and interpretations must be requested in writing only to allow for distribution to all bidders who have requested interest in this bidding opportunity. The successful bidder, including all the General Contractor's and their subcontractor's supervisors and crew members must successfully complete all required background investigations prior to working on, in, or around Pierce County properties and buildings. Background checks may include the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) requirements of no felony criminal incidents and no criminal incidents involving identity theft or other similar risk incidents. In addition, applicant must be willing to sign, acknowledge and abide by the Federal mandated Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) standards as required. All workers processed for background checks must possess a valid Washington State Driver's license, or the ability to obtain the proper identification to meet the background requirements. A 5% bid bond must accompany all bids, and a 100% payment and performance bond will be required from the successful bidder. No bids shall be withdrawn after the opening of the bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time set for submission of bids. The Contractor will be required to substantially complete all basic bid and alternate work within 330 CALENDAR DAYS OF NOTICE TO PROCEED The contractor will have an additional 20 CALENDAR DAYS to reach Final Completion and Acceptance for a total of 350 CALENDAR DAYS. Minimum wage rates for labor to be used under this contract have been determined by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. See the Contract Compliance Procedures for Public Works Projects included in the specifications. The award will be made by Pierce County to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting the specifications and within the project budget allocation. Pierce County reserves the right to reject any bid for failure to comply with the requirements of this invitation to bid or of any of the Contract Documents. In addition, Pierce County may waive any minor defects or informalities at its discretion. Pierce County also further reserves the right to reject any or all bids for cause.
