Site work and renovation of a library in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Working plans call for the renovation of a two-story above grade, one-story below grade library; and for site work for a two-story above grade, one-story below grade library.

A timeline for the re-bid is not yet established.** The City of Bridgeport is seeking: A firm to provide design/build services for the planning, design and construction of the renovation of the East Side Branch Library. The renovation shall consist of work to be performed in the basement, 1st and 2nd floors of the lower East Main Branch, located at 1174 East Main Street in Bridgeport, CT 06608. The work shall include but may not be limited to: 1) Creating a community room on the first floor approx. 700-800 square feet by modifying existing space 2) Creating a meeting room approx. 225 square feet in the facility 3) Demo walls on second floor to create an open floor plan with glass partitioned rooms 4) Create a visible conference / study room approx. 350 square feet 5) Create a glass partitioned children's room approx.350 square feet on second floor 6) Furnish and install an ADA compliant electrical elevator that will service all three floors 7) Remove sections of brick facade and replace with windows to mimic look of exterior at ground floor 8) Furnish and install heating and cooling systems at basement and second floor 9) Renovate existing ornamental iron and terracotta staircase 10) Confirm the integrity of the roof and drainage systems 11) Create and fully equip at least one ADA compliant public bathroom and a second bathroom on second floor 12) Create a branch manager office of approximately 120 sf 13) Create a staff room area within the facility ADDITIONALLY: A) The awarded Contractor shall submit payment and performance bonds covering 100% of the contract price for any contract over $100,000 B) City of Bridgeport is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer C) Project is paid for in part by State funds provided by the Connecticut State Library D) Contractors must comply with State Prevailing Wage Provisions for new construction projects over $ 1,000,000.00 and remodel / repair projects over $ 100,000.00 (CGS31-53 g) E) Contractor must comply with DAS Contractor Prequalification requirements as estimate is over $500,000.00 6.
