As of April 15, 2019 the project has been awarded in the amount of $734,532.18. This is a bridge replacement project on Old Jasper Road over North River in Tuscaloosa County.The total proposed bridge length is 290' and consists of 5 - 34' precast spans and 1 - 120' AASHTO girder span. This contract is for the construction of the AASTHO girder span and adjacent bents ONLY. County forces will construct the precast spans. All Bids must be in accordance with the Contract Documents on file with Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 2900 8th Street, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 35401. Each Bidder must obtain a contractor's license from the State of Alabama prior to submitting his bid. Bids will be received on a unit price basis as described in the Contract Documents. Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the total bid must accompany each Bid. Bid Security is not to exceed $10,000. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds guaranteeing faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the contract. No Bid may be withdrawn within a period of ninety (90) days after the date fixed for opening Bids. The work is to commence within 15 days after the Date of Contract. Completion of the work is required within 80 working days. Sureties will be required to meet qualifications set forth in the Contract Documents. The Tuscaloosa County Commission reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities, and to reject non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional Bids.
