Renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility in Glens Falls, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility.
**As of May 7, 2019, project was on hold because the board felt it was too costly. No new schedule yet.** This scope of work applies to two (2) similar buildings) as depicted in the construction drawings and specifications. Remove and dispose of existing salt shed roof. Prep concrete for new 48 inch tall concrete wall extension. Install new 48 inch tall wall extension as depicted in contract documents with all embeds as required to receive new roof system. Contractor shall retain manufacturer engineer or delegated design engineer to design new roof structure and submit design plans for review and approval by Town. Contractor shall install new roof system including all required anchorage and accessories per manufacturer specifications. Contractor shall provide lighting within the salt sheds including all required wires, switches, motion detectors, photo cells, conduits, lights, testing etc. necessary to provide complete lighting installation. Contractor shall coordinate with Engineer, Town, manufacturer and inspectors as required for completion of project and be responsible for filing for all required permits. This work will be awarded as one (1) single contract. Work shall be substantially completed by September 25, 2019 and ready for final payment 14 calendar days after substantial completion. Bids will be received on a lump sum basis. Bids should not include sales and compensating use taxes on materials incorporated into the work. Bids actually received by mail or by hand after the appointed time on the date specified shall be rejected, notwithstanding that such Bid may have been placed in a mail box or other mail receptacle regularly maintained by the United States Postal Service before such time, and ordinarily in sufficient time to have been delivered on time. The successful bidder will be required to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. This is a public works project and state prevailing wages as determined by the New York State Department of Labor must be paid. Provisions for prevailing wages are set forth in Section 007310 of this Bid Manual. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Minority Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 0% Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 00% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 0% Disadvantaged Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 0% Contract term: 1 Year Mail orders must include a cover letter specifically indicating which bid documents are being requested. Checks for the Contract Documents shall be made payable to "The Chazen Companies" Attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements for ensuring that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The Town of Queensbury, as Owner, reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the Bid received, or to reject any or all Bids without explanation.
