The project is located on West 4th St from Wesley Pkwy to Market St, West 2nd St from George St to West St, and Collins St from West 5th St to West 6th St and includes the construction of curb and gutter, replacement of sidewalk ADA ramps, and construction of asphalt overlays. Anticipated Award and Approve: March 25th, 2019 Project Completion Date: Within 50 working days, which is anticipated to be October 2019. Estimate/Range: $729,294.67 For the construction of the project, as described in the construction documents. The project is located on West 4th Street from Wesley Parkway to Market Street, West 2nd Street from George Street to West Street, and Collins Street from West 5th Street to West 6th Street and includes the construction of curb and gutter, replacement of sidewalk ADA ramps, and construction of asphalt overlays. Thereafter, bids will be acted upon by the City Council at such time and place as may be fixed. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashiers check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, readvertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. Specifications for this project shall be the 2019 version of the Iowa Statewide Urban Standard Specifications for Public Improvements modified in accordance with the 2017 version of the City of Sioux City Supplement. Contractors intending to bid as the prime contractor must obtain a hard copy of the plans, specifications and form of contract from the Purchasing Division. Failure to obtain a hard copy may result in the bid being deemed nonresponsive and rejected.
