Estimate/Range: $3,169,335.00 or HMA $3,363,516.00 Project Completion Date: Stage 1 - Approximate Start Date of April 15, 2019. All work shall be completed in Stage 1 prior to beginning work in Stage 2A. Stage 2A - Early Start Date of July 5, 2019. Completion Date of November 16, 2019. Stage 2B - Approximate Start Date of September 16, 2019. Completion Date of November 16, 2019. Stage 3A - Approximate Start Date of September 16, 2019. Completion Date of May 15, 2020. Stage 3B - Approximate Start Date of September 16, 2019. Completion Date of August 1, 2020. The project is located at Lewis and Clark Park, 3400 Line Drive and includes reconstruction of parking lot. Thereafter, bids will be acted upon by the City Council at such time and place as may be fixed. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, readvertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. The Notice of Public Hearing will be published in the Sioux City Journal on February 16, 2019 and February 23, 2019. The work on this project shall begin upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and be fully completed within the specified working days as follows: Specifications for this project shall be the 2019 version of the Iowa Statewide Urban Standard Specifications for Public Improvements modified in accordance with the 2017 version of the City of Sioux City Supplement. Copies of said construction documents are available at the office of the City Clerk of Sioux City for examination by the public. The documents are also available for viewing by the public, or sub-contractors, or suppliers, on the City's Engineering electronically, under the Projects Out to Bid tab electronically. The deposit will be returned to depositor if the construction documents are returned in good condition within fourteen (14) days from date of award. Contractors intending to bid as the prime contractor must obtain a hard copy of the plans, specifications and form of contract from the Purchasing Division.
