The Huntington Beach Union High School District is pleased to announce it is soliciting proposals from interested, qualified contractors to provide preconstruction services and lease-leaseback construction services for the District's ATHLETIC FACILITIES IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ("Project"). This solicitation will enable the District to select a lease-leaseback Contractor using the best value competitive procurement process under Education Code section 17400 et seq., to assist the District with preconstruction services and construction services. Each Contractor responding to this Request for Proposals should demonstrate in its proposal how it is prepared and qualified to provide the preconstruction services and construction services described in the Request for Proposal to the District in a timely manner so as to enable the District to meet critical time deadlines and schedules. The project scope, schedules, and budgets are preliminary and will be further refined as each sub-project progresses. Sub-projects are as noted below: 1. The installation of new Batting Cages at the Huntington Beach High School, consisting of concrete work, retaining wall work, netting and poles, electrical wiring, and finish work. (est. work window: 06/01/2019 - 09/30/2019). The construction budget for this sub-project is estimated at $300,000. 2. Subject to potential further revision, the removal of the existing swimming pool at Edison High School, and the installation of a new 35-40-meter pool at the school, along with other specified improvements. (est. work window: 10/15/2019 - 10/15/2020). Construction budget for this sub-project is estimated at $4,000,000. 3. Subject to potential further revision, the removal of the existing swimming pool at Marina High School, and the installation of a new 35-40-meter pool at the school, along with other specified improvements. (est. work window: 10/16/2020 - 10/15/2021). Construction budget for this sub-project is estimated at $3,800,000. 4. Subject to potential further revision, the removal of the existing swimming pool at Fountain Valley High School, and the installation of a new 35-40-meter pool at the school, along with other specified improvements. (est. work window: 10/16/2021 - 9/30/2022. Construction budget for this sub-project is estimated at $4,100,000. The total estimated construction budget for the total Project is $12,200,000 and the estimated performance period is 40 months. Estimated deadlines subject to revision at the District's discretion.
