This is a total 100% service disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB) set-aside. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office 23 (NCO23) intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of Project Number 636-803, Expand Specialty Care Addition at the VA Iowa City Health Care System Medical Center (VAICHCS), Iowa City, Iowa, in accordance with the solicitation, scope of work, specifications and drawings. This project will vertically expand the newly constructed Specialty Clinics Addition by one level for additional specialty care services. Some first-floor items such as elevators and room finishes that were not completed in the previous project will also be completed in this project. Construction adds approximately 11,000 square feet. Work includes minor demolition, new construction of walls, ceilings, roofs and floors, general construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing work, controls, telecom and certain other items to create a complete and usable space. The anticipated Period of Performance is 365 calendar days for the Base Bid from the receipt of the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The applicable NAICS Code under this acquisition is 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building Construction and a $36.5 Million small business size standard. In accordance with VAAR 836.204(f), the magnitude of construction cost range for this project is $2,000,000 and $5,000,000.
