Bids for the Courthouse Office Construction of the Adult Probation and Public Defender suites shall include full scope for demolition, general contracting, electrical, plumbing, cabinetry and all finish work for new construction of interior, restroom, acoustical ceilings, flooring, painting and all finish work for both suites. HVAC will be contracted separately and should not be included as part of contractor's bid. The single construction project site is broken into two separate and distinct phases; work on Adult Probation suite will be completed prior to Public Defender suite being started. Work will not run concurrently due to staffing space and moves. Contractors shall bid on the single project encompassing both suites. Each bid must be accompanied either by (a) the Bid Guaranty and a certified check, cashier's check or money order on a solvent bank or savings and loan association in the amount of ten percent (10.0%) of the total bid, or (b) a bid bond for the full amount of the bid prepared on the appropriate form. The County will return checks, money orders or bid bond to bidders not selected after the County has awarded the bid and has executed the contract. If the County has not awarded the contract within 60 days after the bid-opening date, any bidder not yet notified that the County has accepted its bid may request release of its security.
