Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Wilson, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a municipal facility; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

CONTRACT NO. 2 - Mitigation: Includes the construction of a new chemical/electrical building, including sodium permanganate feed system, generator, and electrical equipment, installation of new raw water pumps and piping, and other work as described in the Contract Documents.The foregoing description shall not be construed as a complete description of the work required. Each Bidder must show evidence that Bidder is licensed under Chapter 87 of the N.C. General Statutes. The City of Wilson reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. Bidders must certify that they do not and will not maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on a basis of race, color, creed or national origin, and so certify with the form included in the Proposal. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Contract Documents, including any Addendum, obtained from any other source. Bidders are cautioned to refer to the Instructions to Bidders for details of the mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit following the meeting. Any formal bid submitted by a Bidder that fails to attend this meeting will be considered an unresponsive bid. No Bid shall be considered or accepted by the Owner unless at the time of its filing the same shall be accompanied by a deposit with the City of Wilson, North Carolina of cash, or a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on a bank or trust company insured, by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the Proposal. In lieu of making the deposit as above provided, such Bidder may file a Bid Bond executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds; conditioned that the surety will upon demand forthwith make payment to the City of Wilson, North Carolina upon said Bond if the Bidder fails to execute the Contract in accordance with the Bid Bond. If upon acceptance of his Bid, a Bidder fails to enter into a Contract with the City of Wilson, North Carolina, the Bid deposit shall be forfeited to and become the property of the City of Wilson, North Carolina. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within 60 days after the date of Bid opening. A separate performance bond and payment bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price will be required. Carriers must be authorized to do business in North Carolina. Bidders must conform with the provisions of the North Carolina Contractor's Licensing Act of 1925, as amended. The name and address and the NC Contractors License Number of the Bidder must be plainly written on the outside of the envelope, and the envelope marked Bid for Wiggins Mill Dam Facilities Hurricane Matthew Damage Contract No 2 - Mitigation. Bidders are cautioned to refer to the Instructions to Bidders for details of the mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit following the meeting. Any formal bid submitted by a Bidder that fails to attend this meeting will be considered an unresponsive bid.
