Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Steubenville, Ohio. Completed plans call for the construction of a 3,000-square-foot office development; and pre-engineered storage facility.
In general, the work is comprised of the construction of a slab on grade, pre-engineered steel, 12,000 truck storage facility with a 3,000 sf office module attached. Site work consists of compacted fills, storm drainage, balanced grading and concrete drives and parking areas. Qualifications: The Contractor and subcontractors must possess all applicable licenses and certifications at the time of bidding. The Contractor must also demonstrate ability to provide the workforce necessary to meet the deadlines imposed and must provide bid and performance and labor bonds. The contractor must provide a bid under a Lump Sum Price which must include all labor, materials, applicable taxes, permits and fees in bid. All bids must be accompanied with a guaranteed bid bond or letter of credit. Selection Process: All sealed bids will be publicly opened and compared as to quality, thoroughness and cost by the Owner and the Architect. The Owner will review and select a Contractor based upon costs, demonstrated experience with similar projects, and the proven ability to complete a project on time and who proves to be the "lowest responsive and responsible bidder". A decision should be rendered on April 8, 2019. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of 60 days after the actual bid date opening. Construction is to commence on immediately and is to be substantially completed by November 1, 2019. The project is being partially publicly funded and the owner reserves the right to waive any informalities and/or reject any and all bids and to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of bidder.
