Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in London, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a municipal facility.
Construction of a new headquarters capable of servicing and storing up to 252 buses on the site of the existing building for the London Transit Commission. The project has been broken up into two phases, each with multiple smaller phases included. Phase One includes the following - Phase One demolition of existing building and tent at the south end of the property; Phase 2 build a maintenance area, administration offices, and employee parking; Phase 3 demolish east part of existing bus garage; Phase 4 build new service lanes and part of new bus garage; Phase 5 demolish existing services lanes and administrative offices; and Phased 6 clean up existing maintenance bays for bus storage. Phase Two sub-phasing details are not confirmed yet as it remains unfunded. TIMELINE: Plans are conceptual. The City has submitted an application to the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program - Public Transit Stream (ICIP-PTS) to assist with the costs of Phase 1. At this time, the project remains active but no timelines are available for it to proceed past conceptual stages. Further update may be available early 2026. Value includes all total estimated project costs. Phase One estimated project costs - $199,500,000. Phase Two estimated project costs - $133,000,000.
