Demolition, site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Cost Estimate: $300,000- $350,000 The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. The City reserves the right to hold proposals open for a period of sixty days. Contractors must be properly licensed as required by Chapter 87 of the N.C. General Statutes. 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required of the awarded contractor. M/WBE subcontracting goals have been established, which are: 18% MBE and 14% WBE. This project is a complete building façade and streetscape upgrade, from curb to top of building parapet. The scope of work will include, but is not limited to,: removal and relocation of granite curbing; installation of new curbing, ADA ramps and islands; installation of street trees and landscaping; relocation of water meters and valve boxes; removal and replacement of sidewalk; removal and replacement of existing windows and doors; installation of cladding and brackets; removal of existing paint and apply new paint scheme; and repairs to soffits and walls as needed. Trades present in the project include, but are not limited to,: pavement removal, utility work, concrete, asphalt pavement and striping, select building demolition, window and door storefront, exterior wall framing, carpentry/masonry, painting, and landscape plantings. Prime general and subcontractors are encouraged to attend this pre-bid conference to exchange business cards and ask questions about the work. Interested contractors are advised to obtain the plans/specifications and visit the project site beforehand in order to ask relevant questions. Project Description: This project will renovate the entire façade from 2002 to 2230 North Patterson Avenue and the associated street scape for this city block. See Project Special Provisions for job requirements and timeline, etc. Drawings describing the work and outlining the material specifications are provided by the City at no charge to interested general contractors and subs.
