Site work, paving and renovation of a bridge / tunnel in Irvington, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The work consists principally of providing bonds, labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for the installation and repairs of structural steel elements ofthe Terminal Railroad Three Mile Creek Bridge. The bridge will be made available for the proposed work between the hours of 7:00am - 3:00pm each day, as TRR operations permit, with the bridge open from 11:30am - 12:30pm for marine vessel navigation. The Contractor must cease construction activities and the bridge must be fully operational by 3:00pm each day. The project site is located at the north end of Industrial Canal Road in Mobile, Alabama A Guarantee will be required with each bid as follows: At least five (5%) percent of the amount bid, but in no event more than Ten Thousand ($10,000) Dollars, shall be furnished in the form of a certified check or bid bond payable to the Alabama State Port Authority. A Performance Bond in an amount not less than the sum bid will be required at the signing of the contract and, in addition, a bond in an amount not less than One Hundred (100%) percent of the contract price, insuring payment of all labor and material. No bid will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly qualified to submit a proposal for this work in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license as required from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama. Bidders must hold the major classifications of H/RR - Heavy Railroad OR H/RR-S - Specialty Construction, Marine Construction. Also, non-residents of the State must show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in Alabama. Sealed bid proposals will be received via courier to the Alabama State Port Authority, 1400 Alabama State Docks Blvd, Room 216, Administration Building, Mobile, AL 36602 until 1:30 pm, on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Sealed bid proposals can also be hand delivered from 1:45 pm to 2:00 pm. The right is reserved, as the interest of the Alabama State Port Authority may require, to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in bids received.
