Site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Design plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for the construction of a transportation facility.
This project would build 10 Stations and 25 miles of track serving 5 municipalities and two counties. The train will use the existing Norfolk Southern (“O” Line) rail line that will be upgraded to accommodate the commuter rails service. As of March 2026, the next phase of the project will be a 30% design update. It will start in July 2026 and have an approximate 18-24 month duration. A firm timeline for construction has not been established, but it is not anticipated to begin before May 2028.
