Renovation of a municipal facility in Brooklyn, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
As of May 9, 2019, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. All work on this Contract is to be completed within ninety (30) calendar days, starting ten (10) calendar days after the contract approval date. Bidders are advised to pay strict attention to the bid submission date, time and other requirements set forth to prevent disqualification from consideration. The scope of this project is to waterproof the concrete floor slab of the 9th floor mechanical penthouse, comprising an area of approximately 20,000 square feet, utilizing resinous flooring system similar to Merflex system by Sika Corporation. Waterproofing is required to protect various laboratory and classroom spaces on the floors below the penthouse level from water and other fluids that may leak or be ejected from mechanical equipment. Such protection is of a more pressing nature owing to the advanced age of the majority of the penthouse equipment, rendering it more prone to leakage and more likely to produce fluid discharge events during more frequent servicing cycles. In some locations, waterproofing of spaces above occupied floors is required by the NYS code or other presiding regulation. (1) All prospective bidders are hereby notified that, on request of the University, they must be able to prove to the satisfaction of the University that they have the skill and experience, as well as the necessary facilities, ample financial resources, organization and general reliability to do the work to be performed under the provisions of the Contract in a satisfactory manner and within the time specified. Bids must be submitted in duplicate in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid. It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers. The State University of New York reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Total MWBE Participation Goals: 30% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 6%
