As of July 11, 2023, a design has has been selected and this project is in the design development phase. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is expected to start in 2024. This RFLOI Is to Solicit Responses (Letters of Interest, or Lois) From Qualified Firms to Provide Professional Consulting Services to: This Project Will Provide for the Addition of Approximately 2700 LF of Sidewalk in the City of Kannapolis. This Project Will Add Sidewalk Along Bethpage Road From Main Street to Leonard Avenue & Westgreen Drive to Klondale Avenue. Scope of Work The City of Kannapolis Is Soliciting Proposals for the Services of a Firm/team for the Following Contract Scope of Work: The Engineering firm shall provide engineering, design, and technical services associated with the following project elements: o Existing condition survey and documentation o Design Criteria o Environmental Review and documentation including meetings with NCDOT and other regulatory agencies o Utility evaluation o Preliminary design plans o Engineer's Estimate of cost of Preliminary Design - submission of Preliminary Design plans, hydrological and hydraulic data, Engineer's estimate and other pertinent data as required by NCDOT for review and approval. o Final Design - submission of Final Design Plans, contract documentation and specifications for bidding, and Engineer's Estimate. o Permitting - coordination with NCDOT, NCDEQ (if required), etc. o Bid Document Development and Bid Services. The selected firm will report directly to the City of Kannapolis. The selected firm is to administer the contract and to ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the contract requirements. Proposed Contract Time: Less Than 1 Year Proposed Contract Payment Type: Lump Sum Three (3 ) total copies of the LOI should be submitted. Firms submitting LOIs are encouraged to carefully check them for conformance to the requirements stated above. If LOIs do not meet ALL of these requirements they will be disqualified. No exception will be granted. Prequalification The Department maintains on file the qualifications and key personnel for each approved discipline, as well as any required samples of work. Each year on the anniversary date of the company, the firm shall renew their prequalified disciplines. If your firm has not renewed its application as required by your anniversary date or if your firm is not currently prequalified, please submit an application to the Department prior to submittal of your LOI.
