Construction of a Transportation Centre in the East area of the Montreal Island at the corner of Souligny and Dickson streets. The new gold LEED certified building will house 250 buses that will be initially hybrid-powered (diesel and electric) and ultimately electric-only. The building will have the facilities for operation and maintenance of these buses: storage, parking and circulation areas, site access, multifunction bays for bus maintenance, warehouses, mechanical and electrical rooms as well as administrative areas. The project aims for LEED v4 Gold certification. The value of the project is preliminary estimated to be as high as $370,000,000. TIMELINE: The project is preliminary and is included in the Quebec Treasury Board Secretariat list of major projects under the number 283. The awarded professional consulting team has submitted to the owner the results of their preliminary studies relating to the project development. Currently the project and the preparation of a feasibility study and performance specification of the project have been put on hold pending required approvals for an indetermined period. The project will be followed if/when it restarts and proceeds to a design stage. Coverage of this report has been discontinued.
