Site work and paving for a road / highway in Long Valley, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
**As of May 2, 2019 Project has been awarded. Award amount is $558,711.23.** The work to be performed consists of the furnishing of all labor, equipment, materials and all else necessary to mill, repair and overlay roadway including 12,810 square yards of 2" milling and 2,250 tons of road pavement for Alternate A and 20,730 square yards of 2" milling and 4,295 tons of road pavement for Alternate B. The Contractor must commence work after June 21, 2019 and complete all work by July 24, 2019 for Alternate A and August 15, 2019 for Alternate B. This Contract is subject to all of the Department of Labor Safety and Health Regulations and to the applicable provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. All bids shall be made on the forms furnished and shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope marked with the name and address of the Bidder, the name of the Owner, the Contract Number and Title. Any bid submitted prior to the bid opening date or by mail shall be in sealed enveloped addressed to the Township of Washington, c/o Andrew Coppola, 43 Schooley's Mountain Road, Long Valley, New Jersey 07853. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) (not to exceed $20,000) of the total bid, payable to the Owner, as a guarantee that if the contract is awarded to the Bidder he will enter into a contract with the Owner. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish payment and performance bonds each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract award. Each Bidder shall submit with his proposal a completed Consent of Surety Form, stating that the surety company will provide him with the required payment and performance bonds. The attention of the Bidder is called to the conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. The successful Bidder shall be required to comply with the provisions of the Department of Labor's current wage rate determination, The New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, The Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, The Copeland Act, and The Davis-Bacon Act. Each bidder must complete and submit the Ownership Disclosure Statement, the Non-Collusion Affidavit and the Affirmative Action Assurance Form contained in the proposal package, Disclosure of Investment Activities In Iran and Bidders and sub-contractors Business Registration Certificate pursuant to P.L. 2004, C.57, N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 in order to be eligible for consideration for award of this Contract. In addition, when applicable, the Bidder shall be required to submit a list of specialty trade subcontractors who will be used on the Project, along with a certificate pursuant to P.L. 1997, c.408. During the performance of this contract, the contractor is required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq and N.J.A.C. 17:27 regarding affirmative action. Contract Documents for the proposed work are on file in the office of the Township Clerk, Township of Washington, 43 Schooley's Mountain Road, Long Valley, New Jersey, and at the office of the Consulting Engineer, Anderson & Denzler Associates, Inc., 519 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, New Jersey, and may be inspected by prospective bidders during office hours. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, as set forth in the Contract Documents, the right being reserved by the Township to reject all proposals or any proposal which may be informal or the acceptance of which for any other reasons would be detrimental to the best interests of the Township, and to waive informalities.
