Bids will be submitted in sealed envelopes at the above address and shall bear on the face thereof the name and address of the bidder as well as the specific contract(s) number(s) bid on, as set forth below. All bids must be submitted on forms furnished by the Greenlawn Fire District, in accordance with the specifications and instructions to Bidders. Bids for this project may be submitted and will be considered in alternative fashion as follows:
One, Single Prime Contract:
Contract No. 1 To include General, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Construction and related work. Complete digital sets of Bid Documents may be obtained online via download for a forty-nine dollar ($49.00) non-refundable deposit, in the form of CREDIT CARD. Include in the email the company name, address, email address, phone number and interested contract. Once the scanned copy of the executed deposit check is received, Bidding Documents will be shipped. Mail checks to Lohrius Blueprint, 226 Newtown Road, Plainview, New York 11803. Plan deposit is refundable in accordance with the terms in the Instructions to Bidders to all submitting bids. Any bidder requiring documents to be shipped shall make arrangements with the printer and pay for all packaging and shipping costs (either by providing Fed Ex/UPS account number or being charged a flat rate by the printer). A Bid Bond or certified check (payable to the Greenlawn Fire District) in the amount of at least five (5%) percent of the base bid must accompany each bid. A full performance, labor and material bond, together with payment bonds, shall be required of the successful bidder. Exclude from all bids New York State Sales Tax on materials or supplies purchased for this project. Pursuant to 220 of the Labor Law, the contract will contain a provision that every mechanic, laborer and workman employed in or about the work contemplated by the contract shall be paid not less than the prevailing rate of wages and provided with not less than the prevailing supplement which are set forth in the Bidding Documents. The contract for the above item will be awarded by the Board of Fire Commissioners to the lowest responsible bidder. In cases where two or more responsible bidders submit identical bids as to price, the Board of Fire Commissioners may award the contract to either of such bidders. The Board of Fire Commissioners reserves the right to reject all bids and re-advertise for new bids in its discretion and/or to waive any informality in any bid which it deems immaterial in nature. No bidder may withdraw its bid within 45 days of the bid opening.
