Renovation of a municipal facility in Dayton, Ohio. Working plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
As of July 28 2022 this project had no awarded bidder for the bid of May of 2020 and there is no plan at this time to rebid it. the project is still on hold still. The Montgomery County Common Pleas Court at 41 N. Perry Street, built in 1964/1965 with 135,163 sf and the Dayton Montgomery County Courts Building at 301 W. Third Street, built in 1989 with 101,914 sf are connected by an enclosed glass breezeway. The purpose of this project is to correct and improve security for both buildings. The physical constraints of the structures, the circulation paths for staff, public visitors and incarcerated defendants and the open parking lot for Judges result in security deficiencies inconsistent with Best Practices for Court Building Security. Another purpose of this Project is to improve security for the Juvenile Justice Center at 380 W. Second Street, completed in 2008 with 210,000 sf. Recommend security improvements for this facility including the Juvenile Court Command Center, camera placement, intrusion alarm and additional items. *This project timeline has been extended due to the public health crisis. This project was originally scheduled to bid on 03/25/2020. Bid extended to May 13, 2020
