as of 5/03/2019: was advised to call back on 5/7/2019 for the awa This project provides for roadway, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and pedestrian improvements on Linden Lane between Nassau Street and Henry Avenue; the entire length of Spruce Street; and Maple Street from Spruce Street to the northern end. The principal items of work consist of the following: 4,085 CY of excavation, unclassified; 11,595 CY of dense graded aggregate base course; 4,605 tons of HMA 19M64 base course; 1,460 tons of HMA 9.5M64 surface course; 655 LF of reinforced concrete storm pipe (12", 15, and 18" diameter); 406 LF of PVC storm pipe (4" and 8" diameter); 34 units of inlet or manhole repairs; 2 units of inlet or manhole reconstruction; 4,870 LF of sanitary sewer pipe lining; 1,151 LF of 8" diameter PVC sanitary sewer pipe replacement; 4,517 LF of sanitary sewer pipe lateral replacement; 3,264 SY of concrete sidewalk, ADA curb ramps, and driveway aprons; 2,247 LF of concrete vertical curb; 560 SY of hot mix asphalt driveway reconstruction; 200 LF of granite curb resetting; traffic markings including 2,120 LF of 4" traffic marking lines and 1,354 LF of 24" traffic marking lines; permanent signage; 16 units of tree removal (12" to over 36" diameter); and other related miscellaneous work. The project must be substantially completed in one hundred eighty (180) calendar days. The entire project must be completed in two hundred (200) calendar days. In accordance with applicable law, the bidders' list will not be disclosed. All bids shall be on approved bid forms which shall be submitted in sealed envelopes, addressed to the Municipal Clerk, Municipal Building, 400 Witherspoon Street, First Floor, Princeton, New Jersey 08540, bearing the name and address of the bidder and the purpose for which the bid is submitted. Required documents to be submitted are set forth in Paragraph 1C of the "Instructions to Bidders". Bids may be submitted in person or by mail and they will be received at the Municipal Clerk's Office and publicly opened, examined and announced. No bids will be received after the above-designated time. The Municipality assumes no responsibility for the loss or the non-delivery of any bid sent to it prior to the bid opening. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, bank cashier's check or bid bond of an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid, but not to exceed $20,000.00, payable to the Municipality of Princeton and a Consent of Surety. The surety shall be bound to furnish performance and payment bonds as required in the "Instructions to Bidders". Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1.1 et seq., concerning Equal Employment and Affirmative Action, N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2 (P.L. 1977, c.33, s. 1, eff. March 8, 1977; amended 2016 c. 43, s.1), requiring a Statement of Ownership Disclosure, and all other requirements as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders are advised that this project is financed by the New Jersey Water Bank (NJEIFP), New Jersey Department of Transportation Municipal Aid and the Municipality of Princeton and shall fully comply with all applicable requirements in connection with same. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 7:22-9.7, the invitation to bid is on an unrestricted basis whereby the successful bidder must fulfill the SED utilization requirements. The agencies specified in N.J.A.C. 7:22-9.13(a)8 will have a list of eligible SED firms and shall, upon request, provide them to the project sponsor. The project sponsor shall, during the advertisement phase, provide copies of the list to all contractors bidding on unrestricted contracts. The Municipality intends to award this project to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive and complies with its requirements for same, provided that in the judgment of the Municipality it is reasonable, within available funds and in the interest of the Municipality. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any and all bids to the extent permitted by law. An award will be made or bids will be rejected within 60 days after the opening of bids, unless extended as provided by law.
