Bids will be held good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 45 calendar days from the date of receipt. Sealed bids will be received by the Illinois Prairie District Public Library hereinafter known as the Owner, for the renovation of the Roanoke Branch Library. The time for completion of this project is on or before October 1, 2019. Commencement of the work on the project shall be subject to the discretion of Owner. The Owner reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to accept any or reject all bids when, in the opinion of the Owner, such action will serve the best interest of the Owner. Bids on all work of this contract shall be subject to the provisions of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 48, Section 395S - 1-12). Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or a cashier s check in the amount of 5% of the total bid, made payable to Illinois Prairie District Public Library, as a guarantee that the successful bidder will promptly execute a satisfactory contract, will furnish a satisfactory performance bond, payment bond and insurance and will proceed with the work.~ The successful bidder shall be required to provide a Performance Bond and a Material and Labor Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Amount, as well as liability and property insurance as required by the Bid Documents before commencing work. The successful bidder shall enter into a formal contract based on the conditions and requirements in the Bid Documents and the Bid Documents will be incorporated into the Contract.
