Site work for a water / sewer project in Naples, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Collier County Stormwater Management Section is soliciting quotes under the above referenced contract for completion of remedial work on the Gordon River water level and flow control structure. The structure is located on the south side of Golden Gate Parkway approximately one-half mile east of the intersection of Golden Gate Parkway and Goodlette Road, just west of the Bears Paw development. The structure consists of two AMIL gates which control the discharge of surface water from the upper Gordon River into the tidally influenced receiving water of the Lower Gordon River. The gates operate using principles of balance and buoyancy. They operate as free-floating weirs, opening and closing as a result of the upstream water level. The gates are underflow gates, made of steel and are showing varying degrees of corrosion, principally on the bottom surface of the gate leaf. The gates no longer can seal shut on the bottom. This condition causes leaking in both directions, reverse flow in high tide conditions and normal flow with continuous downstream discharge during mid and low tides. Due to the strategic importance of the structure for flood control and resource protection of an urbanized area, the County desires that the repair/refurbishing work be completed before the oncoming wet season, no later than June 15, 2019.
