Site work for a water / sewer project in Plano, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of December 23, 2019, this project is under construction and is forty three percent complete. Construction of an 8-in, 12-in, and 18-in sanitary sewer line along the east side HWY 75 frontage road and Avenue K. The construction will be by open cut and pipe bursting methods; which will include the construction of 4-ft and 5-ft manholes. The construction project will require the use of by-pass pumping of the sewer. The improvements under this contract include the following: Construction of an 8-in, 12-in, and 18-in sanitary sewer line along the east side HWY 75 frontage road and Avenue K. The construction will be by open cut and pipe bursting methods; which will include the construction of 4-ft and 5-ft manholes. The construction project will require the use of by-pass pumping of the sewer. Project completion must be within 150 working days. The days allowed for this project is for total completion of the project, not substantial completion. Working Days shall be Monday through [Friday on this contract, except for holidays as outlined in Special Conditions, SC.02. Days will continue to be charged until all work including, but not limited to, punch list items, claims against the project, cleanup, etc., are resolved and completed. The City of Plano has included a bid item for site cleanup. This item will be paid when the entire job is completed. On projects that have multiple phases or multiple streets, this item will be split up by phase and paid as each phase is completed. Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier check or certified check upon a national or state bank, or a bid bond from a reliable surety company in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute a performance bond and a payment bond within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract to CONTRACTOR. A performance bond will be required for all projects over $100,000.00 and a payment bond will be required for all projects over $50,000.00. A separate maintenance bond will be required for projects less than $100,000.00. Otherwise, it is included with the performance bond. The notice of award of contract will be given by the City of Plano (hereafter OWNER or CITY) within ninety (90) days following the opening of bids. The successful bidder shall submit, within seven (7) days after notice of award of contract, a certificate of partnership, partnership agreement or joint venture agreement which identifies the person(s) authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the partnership or joint venture. The successful bidder will also furnish certificates of insurance that meet the CITY requirements within ten (10) working days after bid opening. The successful bidder must qualify within five (5) working days after bid opening, by submitting such additional evidence as the Director of Engineering may require. Should the bidder fail to produce evidence satisfactory to the CITY on any of the foregoing points, he may be disqualified and the work awarded to the next lowest bidder so qualifying. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond, on the form provided, in the amount of one hundred fifteen percent (115%) of the contract price, and a material and labor payment bond, on the form provided, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety, or other sureties acceptable to the OWNER. One original of the complete bid must be submitted with the City of Plano Bid Number 2019-0324-B designated on the exterior of the bid package. The right is reserved, as the interest of the City of Plano may require, to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informality in bids received. Note: A computer generated bid form may be used in lieu of the enclosed forms. The form shall be 8 1/2 x 11 in size, and will be attached to the bid in the proper section, and will be made part of the bid and contract documents. Note: Spreadsheet option is for the convenience of the bidder, no wording in the spreadsheet shall modify or amend the wording in the bid or plans. The unit price on the form shall be the price of the item, and any errors that may be present in the printout will not be recognized as an opportunity to revise the bid. The summary sheet included in this bid document shall be utilized for summarizing the bid. The spreadsheet shall present each item in the order and number as shown in the City Bid Schedule for this project. The spreadsheet shall be in a column format with the following columns: 1. Item Number 2. Quantity 3. Unit of Measure 4. Description 5. Unit Price 6. Extended Amount Questions will be addressed only through online with a question deadline of -April 9, 2019 at 2:00PM. Answers will be posted on online in the form of an addendum and must be acknowledged in the bid packet.
