This contract is a competitively bid, firm fixed-price indefinite quantity contract. It includes a collection of unit price items related to the replacement of galvanized water services located throughout the County. The County will issue Purchase Orders to the Contractor for the replacement of galvanized water services. Scope of Work shall be as specified in the individual Purchase Orders issued. Work on any Purchase Order shall not commence until a Notice to Proceed is issued by the County. Contractor will provide all labor and materials to perform the replacement of galvanized water services and will well and faithfully construct projects in accordance with each Purchase Order and the Contract Documents. The quantities appearing in the Bid Schedule are approximate only and were prepared for the canvassing of bids. Payment to the Contractor will be made only for the actual quantities of items requested and furnished in accordance with each Purchase Order, and it is understood that the scheduled quantities of items to be furnished may be increased, diminished, or omitted without in any way invalidating prices bid. The County agrees that it shall pay the Contractor pursuant to each Purchase Order, and in accordance with the Standard Specifications. The Work includes the following major items: replacement of existing galvanized water services located throughout Anne Arundel County on both County and state roadways. The Contractor shall be responsible for site investigation and all necessary permitting in addition to furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment for the replacement of existing 3/4 inch through 1 inch and 1 1/2 inch through 2 inch water service with new 3/4 inch through 1 inch and 1 1/2 inch through 2 inch service lines and all appurtenances and related work including, but not limited to, restoration, traffic control, and paving. Some locations require the water meter and vault to be relocated.
