Contra Costa County is seeking qualified contractors to refurbish approximately 17,624 square feet of parking lot located at 1001 So. 57th Street, Richmond. The County intends to accept bids submitted on line through Bidsync, and award a purchase order to the lowest responsive and responsible contractor for completion of this project. Please do not call for details before the site visit. Interested vendors must plan to be at this meeting. Vendors are required to see this site before bidding. This will be the only time the facility is available for vendor inspection. There are no formal plans or specs written up. The site visit is the only way to attain information on this project. The prime contractor for this project shall hold a valid California State Contractors license. It shall be the responsibility of the vendor to comply with County Ordinances by securing the necessary permits. The costs of any permits or fees shall be incorporated into the costs of the jobs, and should be quoted as so. Bidders are hereby notified that pursuant to the Statutes of the State of California, or local law applicable thereto, Contra Costa County has obtained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and rates for Regular work, legal holidays and overtime work in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each type of worker or mechanic required to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder. The prevailing rate of per diem can be located at the State of California Industrial Relations website. All jobs performed for the County of Contra Costa are expected to be at prevailing wages. Certified payroll is required. The County reserves the right to cancel the contract at anytime with written notice, if Service Center personal finds the quality, service, costs or turn-around time unsatisfactory. Arts and Supplies Furnished Under This Contract Shall Be the Latest Improved Models in Current Production, as Offered to Commercial Trade, and Shall Be of Quality Material. Used, Shopworn, Demonstrator, Prototype, Reconditioned or Discontinued Models or Materials Are Not Acceptable . The Warranty Period for Vendor Provided Warrantable Materials Shall Be for a Period of One Year After Completion of the Installation or Within the Manufacturers' Warranty, Whichever Is the Later Period. The Warranty Period Shall Commence Upon Date of Installation by the County of Contra Costa. Vendor shall provide all equipment and tools which shall be the appropriate type for the task to which its use has been assigned and shall be well maintained, calibrated, and in proper working order before use in the performance of the service. Vendor shall, prior to commencing work, thoroughly examine and become familiar with the system(s) and associated facilities to ensure the service can be completed in an orderly, safe manner. Vendor shall maintain a safe work environment at all times. Vendor shall report immediately to the County of Contra Costa's authorized representative the existence of unsafe condition(s), which will compromise the performance of the service. The County of Contra Costa reserves the right to award on a basis of low total bid, split award each zone if applicable, or in any other combination that will best serve the interests of the County of Contra Costa. The successful vendor should be identified within five working days of bid opening. Vendors shall submit invoice statements at the end of all completed installations, such statement to include a detailed breakdown of all charges, and shall be based on completion of tasks or deliverables. Invoices shall be submitted to: County of Contra Costa. Upon inspection and acceptance of the invoices, the County will render payment within thirty (30) days. Contractor shall, at no cost to County, obtain and maintain during the term hereof: (a) Worker's Compensation Insurance pursuant to state law, and (b) Comprehensive Liability Insurance, including coverage for owned and non-owned automobiles, with a minimum combined single limit coverage of $500,000 for all damages due to bodily injury, sickness or disease, or death to any person, and damage to property, including the loss of use thereof, arising out of each accident of occurrence. Contractor shall furnish evidence of such coverage, naming County, its officers and employees as additional insured, and requiring 30 days' written notice of policy lapse or cancellation. The evidence of coverage shall be submitted before Work begins. See insurance item in the County Terms attached to this spec. Questions about this request for quotation should be directed to Bidsync. Other tax supported agencies within the State of California who have not contracted for their own requirements may desire to participate in the contract. The contractor will be requested to service these agencies and will be given the opportunity to accept or reject the additional requirements. If the contractor elects to service them, orders will be placed directly by the agency and each agency will make payment directly to the contractor.
