Renovation of a water / sewer project in Westland, Michigan. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Construct a new Newburgh Road Booster Pumping Station, including new pumps, motors, VFDs, electrical gear, building mechanical equipment, and backup power generation. Alternatives include constructing a new Newburgh Road Booster Pumping Station on the existing site, expanding the existing site to accommodate a new station, or construction of the new station on a new site. As of April 24, 2023, this project is included in the Great Lakes Water Authority's FY 2023-2027 CIP. A design firm has been selected for the project. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to fiscal year 2029. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
