Site work and paving for a civil project in San Ramon, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

**As of May 9, 2019, this project has not yet been awarded. It is expected to be awarded on 5/14/2019. The work consists of performing the following, including but not limited to slurry seal and cape seal in streets and public parking lots designated on the Plans. Related items of work include, but are not limited to: construction signage; base failure repairs; adjusting of utility covers and manholes to grade; adjusting of survey monument frame and covers; pavement striping and markings; and all other work necessary for a complete project in accordance with the Plans and Specifications. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. The contract completion period shall be Sixty (60) Working Days. The engineer's estimate for cost of construction is approximately $4.40 Million. Bid proposals from Bidders who are not on the Plan Holders List will not be accepted. Each bidder must submit a proposal to the City Clerk labeled: Pavement Management 2019 Project (CIP 5568) Questions regarding the bid documents should be directed to Suzy Edwards, Project Manager, Engineering Services Division at (925) 973-2667 or (925) 973-2670. All bids and supporting documents will become the property of the City of San Ramon and upon selection of the successful bidder and before award of the contract, all bids and supporting documents will become public records and subject to disclosure as required by the California Public Records Act. Proposals shall be on standard forms which may be obtained from the office of the City Engineer and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bidder's bond of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid submitted to be made payable to the City of San Ramon. The work includes the furnishing of all labor, supervision, materials, tools, plant and equipment for the construction of all items shown on the Plans and Specifications for a complete and functional project. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond in the amount not less than one-hundred percent (100%) of contract price and a payment bond in the amount not less than one-hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. At the successful contractor's option, securities may be substituted for the required retention, in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the State of California Public Contracts Code. All bidders shall be licensed under the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California to do the type of work contemplated in the project and shall be skilled and regularly engaged in the general class or type of work called for under the contract. The Contractor shall possess a Class A license at the time this contract is awarded. The Contractor and all subcontractors performing work in connection with this project must pay all laborers, workmen, and mechanics on said work, or any part thereof, not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for day, legal holidays and overtime work for work of a similar character in the location where the work is performed as set forth within the appropriate General Prevailing Wage Determination made by the Director of Industrial Relations, State of California, in accordance with Section 1770 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5. The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids received and to waive irregularities in bids and the bid procedure as the public good may require.
