Demolition, site work and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Broomfield, Colorado. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

This request is for the replacement of the Interlocken East Park Restroom Facilities and Shelters constructed in 1985. (Upper and Lower Shelters). The facilities currently located here have reached the end of their specified lifespan. Specifically, the interior of the roofs have began to decay and rot, creating an unsafe situation and a need to spend significant amounts on replacements/reconstruction of the soffit area of the lower shelter. Vandalism in the restrooms and shelters requires upgrades to burned areas, repainting of tagged areas, and replacement of damaged materials such as the partitions. The plumbing on the interior of the restrooms constantly needs repairs and attention. This building was initially built with many inadequacies and given to the City without any concerns. One of the major defaults is that access to the interior plumbing is completely closed off, making it necessary to complete all plumbing repairs on the interior walls through a 12"x12" access panel, a task that is nearly impossible without eventually deconstructing the interior walls. It is only a matter of time before there is a major incident that requires significant resources to address. As of March 02, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2026 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2023. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
