As of June 16, 2021, an architect has been selected and this project is in the design phase. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to July 2021. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Professional Services of a Historic Preservation Architectural Consultant for design, restoration and construction administration of three historic buildings at Reservoir No. 3 (Gate House 1, 2 and Screen House) in Jersey City, New Jersey. All designs will be based on the Historic Structures Report prepared by John Milner Associates (JMA). A topographic and boundary survey prepared by T & M Associates are attached for reference. The final result expected from this contract is a finished historically appropriate Gate House 1, 2 and Screen House ready for public access, and in compliance with the historical regulations for this sensitive site (Reservoir No. 3 is on the State and National Registers of Historic Places.) This contract encompasses the preparation of construction documents and technical designs based on the specific recommendations laid out in the HSR and the carrying out of subsequent construction works based in these designs. Both designs and works are expected and required to adhere closely to the HSR with any exceptions required due to technical concerns to be discussed with and approved by the City and HPO. The drafting/construction process is expected to require subcontracting of several firms by the Respondent's project team in order to ensure the relevant expertise in each area (engineering, historical preservation and construction, etc.) Design Development, Construction Documents, Plans and Specifications, Permitting including but not limited to JC Building Department, HPO, HPC, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), New Jersey Historic Preservation (SHPO), Army Corps, and Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA).
