Site work and paving for a transportation facility in Kansas City, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for paving for a transportation facility.
The New Single Terminal and Parking at KCI project consists of approximately 1 million square foot terminal facility including curbside, ticketing lobby, TSA compliant security screening checkpoint, TSA compliant in-line Checked Baggage Inspection System and associated support areas, baggage claim areas, baggage make-up area and associated support functions. The facility will include secure concourses providing concessions and customer amenities. The facility will initially support 39 aircraft gates. Equipment to support air carrier operations in the terminal, including passenger boarding bridges, aircraft support systems (e.g., pre-conditioned air, ground power, potable water, etc.), communications infrastructure, common use communications system for City-controlled gates, information display systems (e.g., flight information display systems, baggage information display systems, etc.), inbound and outbound baggage handling systems, and applicable tenant finishes are included in the scope. Aircraft parking aprons and gates are designed for Group III category aircraft, with several gates capable of handling larger Group V aircraft. Twenty-five (25) Remain overnight (RON) aircraft parking positions are provided in proximity to the New Terminal. The non-movement area, including new deicing operation, will be monitored and controlled by virtual ramp control operation, supported by a network of cameras. Fourteen (14) deicing pads and associated collection system are included. The airside scope of work includes demolishing, repaving and re-striping of the existing apron and vehicle service roads (VSR) to align with the position of the new Terminal concourse and gates. In addition, the existing taxi lane network will be reconfigured to provide aircraft with efficient access between movement and non-movement areas. The scope includes relocating existing utilities and services, airfield lighting and guidance signage and communication infrastructure within the project boundary. A multi-level public parking structure with approximately 6,300 parking spaces adjacent to the terminal and connected to the landside terminal via pedestrian walkways. In addition, a covered pedestrian walkway from Existing Terminal B garage to the new terminal will be provided. Clark, Weitz, Clarkson, a Joint Venture (CWC) The New Single Terminal and Parking at KCI Subcontractor RFP/Q-Group 2 B Roadwork 05/20/19 Page 4 In addition to the parking structure, associated landside site development includes a new central utility plant and associated underground utilities, new at grade arrivals roads, an elevated roadway to departures, roadway network reconfiguration, surface parking, roadway lighting, roadway signage updates, and underground utility relocations. The Work includes environmental mitigation (if any); site grading and drainage; fencing; construction access roads and staging areas, among other things. The Project requires that provisions be made to maintain existing operations in Terminals B & C during construction of the new terminal. In addition, upon its completion, the New Terminal A and existing Terminals B & C may be in operation simultaneously for a period to be determined .
