Renovation of a municipal facility in Hayward, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The work consists, in general, of furnishing all materials, labor, tools, plants, supplies, equipment, transportation and superintendence necessary to: The removal, replacement of the existing roof and mechanical systems at the Training and Education Center (TEC) located at 20234 Mack Street, Hayward, CA 94545. The Contractor will be responsible for the City of Hayward Plan Check and Permits as directed by the Project Manager. The estimate for Plan Check and Permits has been included as an allowance. Contractor shall take out the permit(s). Bids shall be submitted using the District's Bid Forms provided in Sections 00 41 00 of the Bid Documents. Bid Forms must be plainly endorsed with Bidder's name together with a signed acknowledgment of any and all addenda. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of a Certificate of Deposit, Certified or Cashier's Check, or Bidder's Bond, in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Bidder's Total Bid Price. The Bid Guaranty will be retained by the District and applied to any and all damages sustained by the District in the event that the successful Bidder fails or refuses to enter into a Contract and fails or refuses to furnish all required bonds and Certificates of Insurance. The District intends to award a Contract to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder based on the Total Bid Price. The District reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and/or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid or in the Bidding procedure. The District specifically reserves the right to not award a Contract after the opening of Bids. Bids will be examined and reported to the District's Board of Directors within ninety (90) days of the Bid opening. Except as permitted by applicable law, no Bidder may withdraw its Bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date of Bid opening. Each Bidder will be notified of any award of the Contract by the District. The successful Bidder, in performance of the contract, will be required to comply with all applicable safety and health standards, and with all applicable laws and regulations governing Equal Employment Opportunity and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. Interested parties must submit any written questions concerning this IFB to Michael Silk by June 26, 2019. Requests for Approved Equals must be received by the District, in writing, via email at msilk@actransit.org or by mail to the attention of the Contracts Specialist noted in Section 00 11 16, Notice inviting bids, no later than 4:00 p.m. PT on June 26, 2019. No such requests will be considered by the District if received after this date. Shortly after 1 pm on July 8th, 2019, the District will open, examine and publicly declare all bids received. Bidders, their representatives, and others interested are invited to be present at the opening of bids. A notice of intent to award will be issued within a reasonable time after bids have been opened, reviewed for responsive/responsibility and tabulated. The deadline for submissions of questions and clarifications concerning the Contract Documents is July 26, 2019, at 4:00 PM PST
