Site work for an educational facility in Lexington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility.
**As of May 13, 2019, the project has not been awarded. The project will be awarded next week.** The project includes acceptance of all existing site and building conditions (which are to be inspected by all bidders prior to bidding) and all other general construction, mechanical and electrical work specified in the Contract Documents dated April 2019. Liquidated damages will be assessed per the specifications. Refer to Supplemental Instructions to Bidders and construction documents for additional information. This project scope includes site improvements around the existing Learning Center at 2420 Spurr Road in Lexington, Kentucky. The work includes extension of the existing drive island around the building, expansion of parking along the extended drive and adjacent to the primary entry, and construction of a new dumpster pad with enclosure. Work is limited to the Spurr Road side of the property. The building will be occupied during construction work. The contractor shall be required to coordinate the contract work. State law requires all contractors performing work pursuant to a construction contract require that all employees and subcontractors submit to a state criminal history background check by the Department of Kentucky State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and have a letter, provided by the individual, from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services stating the individual is clear to hire based on no findings of substantiated child abuse or neglect found through a background check of child abuse and neglect records maintained by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Owner in an amount of not less than 5% of the bid. The award of the contract shall be made on the basis of the lowest and best bid in the interest of Fayette County Board of Education. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the bid opening. The Fayette County Board of Education in meeting their District-wide 12% goal for Minority-, Women-, and Veteran-Owned Business Enterprises (MWVBE) participation for total bid contracts. The Fayette County Board of Education provides equal opportunities to all of its bidders with respect to the bidding and award of construction contracts. Fayette County Public Schools requires that the bidder submit with the bid the following information: 1. Bid Bond property signed, witnessed and executed. 2. Supplier Diversity Program Contract Forms properly completed, signed and dated. 3. Proposal Form -- properly signed, with listing of all subcontractors at time of submittal. A listing of manufacturers and completed unit prices shall be submitted within 1 hour following the bid. Contractors are to place their Bid Bond, their Supplier Diversity Program Contract Forms, and their Form of Proposal in a large, single envelope labeled with the project name and submitting company. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities and irregularities and shall have the right to reject any and all bids. The successful bidder shall provide a 100% Performance and Payment Bond. All questions shall be submitted no later than ten (10) days prior to the established bid date.
