Site work, new construction and addition to a municipal facility in Chester, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the addition of a municipal facility; and for the construction of a municipal facility.
The project includes the Design-Build ofan approximately 1,700 SFpost and frame, metalroofed and sided structure with concrete slab floor andfoundation to accommodate additional ofBce space and canine kennels at the Chester CountyAnimal Shelter. A conceptual layout andfloorplan for the interior ofthe structure isprovided Borrow soils will be required to level the buildingpad. The existing kennels and structures will be removed by County forcesprior to construction. The proposed building willrequire water, sanitary sewer and electrical utilities connections with service already existing at the site. All construction and design is subject to the review and inspection of Chester County Government officials and their representatives. The design and construction ofthe building and foundation shall adhere to the International Building Code 2015, as adopted and amended by the State of SC. Engineered drawings, calculations andshop drawings shall be prepared by a South Carolina licensed professional engineer and submitted to the County's representative for approval prior to commencement of the work. In addition to the base bid ofthe costs associated with the design and construction of the structure and foundation, costs associated with additional interior features are being requested as optional alternatives. Bidders must obtain Bidding Documents/Plans from the above listed source(s) to be listed as an official plan holder. Only those Bidding Documents/Plans obtained from the above listed source(s) are official. Bidders that rely on copies of Bidding Documents/Plans obtained from any other source do so at their own risk Questions concerning the bid documents shall be addressed to Dennis Corporation, Attn: Ashley Lindler, 1800 Huger Street, Columbia, SC 29201, email alindler@denniscorooration.com. All questions must be in writing and submitted before Noon on May 13, 2019 Bids Will Not Be Considered unless sealed and accompanied by a bidder's bond for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Bid bond will be duly executed by the bidder as principal & having as surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State of South Carolina. Successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance & payment bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid All Work On The Project Must Be Completed within 90 Days. Chester County Reserves the Right in all cases to reject any and / or all bids, or parts of bids, to waive technicalities, and to make such an award as is deemed in the best interest of the County. The County also reserves the right to waive informalities, to negotiate further with the Contractor of its choice, and to request additional information, to interview and to make an award deemed in its own best interest. All submittals shall become property of the County and is subject to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) regulations.
