Renovation of a municipal facility in Amherst, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Addition of Voice Evacuation to the Existing Cerberous Pro Fire Alarm System and Installation of Security Enhancements in Amherst County Courthouse The County of Amherst desires to procure the services of a single systems integrator to provide and install the following at the Amherst County Courthouse located at 113 Taylor St., Amherst, VA 24521. A. A modern, addressable fire alarm system was installed in the courthouse in January of 2020. The system is modular and can be converted to voice evacuation with the addition of a voice package, the replacement of non-voice notification appliances with speakers/strobes, and the addition of necessary cabling for voice circuits. The county seeks to procure the provision and installation of these components. In addition, the County wishes to procure the interface required by Virginia State Fire Prevention code to shunt electrical locking arrangements provided by the new card access system described below. B. The courthouse currently has no perimeter intrusion system. The county would like to purchase and have installed a hardwired addressable system for the perimeter of the building consisting of door contacts and class break sensors. In addition, the intrusion system will double as a panic alarm system for buttons located throughout the facility. The security system will be provided with a cell/IP and integrate with the new access control system described below. The successful vendor will provide an annual cost for monitoring service with a U.L. Listed Central station and the annual cost for renewal for the follow five years. C. The courthouse currently utilizes key entry for all doors. The county would like to engage the integrator to replace and/or modify several existing doors and install a card based electronic access control system that is compatible with the Honeywell system installed at the Sheriff's office, Goodwin Building, administration, and Social Services. All control and system data for the system must be housed on site. Cloud based systems will not be permitted. D. Amherst County Courthouse currently has no surveillance system. The county would like to purchase have installed a network video surveillance system consisting of exterior IP Cameras, interior cameras, and associated control and recording equipment. All storage and control for the CCTV system must be housed on site. Cloud based systems will not be permitted. E. The Circuit Court administrative office desires to have an IP based audio/video intercom/door release system installed for the primary access door. The County wishes to purchase the equipment and installation for this system under this RFP. F. The successful proposer shall be responsible for obtaining any required permits for project completion.
