Site work and new construction of a swimming pool in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Working plans call for the construction of a 52,500-square-foot, two-story above grade swimming pool; and for site work for a swimming pool.
The new aquatics facility is planned to be added onto the existing Dow Centennial Centre (DCC) located at 8700 84 Street. The DCC is the Citys current multipurpose recreation and cultural facility which includes a gymnasium, fitness centre, arena, indoor soccer field, banquet rooms and theater. Previous reports have analyzed options for expansion at the DCC and two locations were recommended for a new aquatics facility. The IPD team will further evaluate these options to determine the most feasible option. TIMELINE: Detailed design is underway. Construction start is planned for spring 2026.
