For the paving on various public roads in Washington County, AL utilizing the existing, in-place annual bids for leveling, patching, and surface mixes. We are looking only for the lay-down costs for hot-mix asphalt - surface, leveling and patching. The project includes approximately seventy (70) miles of existing paved roads. We will also need a bid price for tack, traffic stripe, both center-line and edge, and necessary traffic markings such as stop bars and railroad crossings. Shoulder work will not be part of this project. The Entire Project Shall Be Completed In one-hundred and twenty (120) Working Days. Cashier check or bid bond for 5% of bid (maximum - $10,000.00) made payable to the Washington County Commission must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith. The bidder proposal must be submitted on the completed original proposal furnished him or her by the Washington County Engineers Office. Pre-qualification is not required. The right to reject any or all bids is reserved. Ala. Code 39-3-5 applies to this project. In accordance with Ala. Code 39-3-5(a), preference shall be given to resident contractors, and a nonresident bidder domiciled in a state having laws granting preference to local contractors shall be awarded Alabama public contracts only on the same basis as the nonresident bidder state awards contracts to Alabama contractors bidding under similar circumstances; and resident contractors in Alabama, as defined in Section 39-2-12, be they corporate, individuals, or partnerships, are to be granted preference over nonresidents in awarding of contracts in the same manner and to the same extent as provided by the laws of the state of domicile of the nonresident.
