Demolition, site work, paving, new construction, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in San Diego, California. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a 400,000-square-foot conference / convention center; for the construction of a residential development; for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The San Diego City Council recently voted to put a convention center expansion package on the 2020 primary ballot, according to the Times of San Diego. The measure would raise hotel taxes in order to provide not only $1.7 billion for a revamped convention center. The project would add about 400,000 square feet to the existing venue, increasing its size to more than 1 million square feet. Measure C failed to get two-thirds of the vote in order to pass. As of April 25, 2025, Measure C is still going through a legal process as city council voted to approve the measure even though it was rejected by the voters. Project is still in litigation, no further information available at this time.
