Such bids are to provide for the following approximate "Work Quantities": 5,400 LF of 18" to 36" RCP, 1,050 LF of 18" to 48" Arch RCP, 47 Storm Sewer Structures; 3,300 LF of 6" to 12" PVC Water Main Pipe; 580 LF of 4" to 8" Sanitary Sewer Pipe; 2 Sanitary Sewer Manholes; 41,000 CuYd Unclassified Excavation; 22,000 Tons Base Course; 7,800 Tons Class HR Asphalt Concrete Pavement; 11,000 LF Curb & Gutter; 36,000 SF PCC Sidewalk, PCC Fillets, Valley Gutters and Driveways; landscaping and miscellaneous items. The check or bond will be retained by the City as liquidated damages if the successful bidder refuses or fails to enter into a contract and performance bond in accordance with the bid when notified. All bidders are required to hold all applicable South Dakota tax licenses. Bidder is required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount not less than the contract price, for the faithful performance of the contract. Contractor shall promptly pay all persons supplying him/her with labor or material in the performance of the work provided for in the contract. By virtue of Statutory Authority, preference will be given to materials, products, and supplies found or procured within the State of South Dakota Bids may not be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the actual opening thereof. Action on the bids will occur within 30 days of the bid opening. The City of Brookings reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and all bids.
