Renovation of an educational facility in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Bids came in over budget. Updates will be issued as they become available. The Université de Sherbrooke is requesting bids for the renovation of the B1 and B2 pavilions on the main campus of the Université de Sherbrooke. Submissions must be hand-delivered in sealed envelopes, only to the Université de Sherbrooke's Building Services Department at local B4-224 of the Main Campus Power Plant located on University Boulevard. in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Upon receipt, the date and time will be shown and it is this date and time that will be used to determine whether a bid has been received on time or not. The Bidder must provide with its bid a bid security equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid price. The guarantee must be provided in the form of a bond or an irrevocable guarantee letter, in which case the models provided for in the tender documents must be used or by means of a certified check, money order, or bearer bonds issued or guaranteed by the Government of Québec, Canada or a province or territory covered by an applicable intergovernmental agreement and whose term does not exceed five (5) years. The bid security must be exchanged before the signing of the contract by a guarantee of performance of the contract and a guarantee of the obligations of the contractor for wages, materials and services. These guarantees are in the form of bonds, the amount of each of them must correspond to fifty percent (50%) of the value of the contract and these guarantees must be provided according to the models provided for in the tender documents. Submissions must be valid for a period of forty-five (45) days. In addition, only bids from contractors holding the required license under the Building Act (RSQ c B-1.1) will be considered for the purposes of the bidding process. The bidding contractors are responsible for the choice of subcontractors, both for their solvency and for the content of their bids. The Owner agrees to accept neither the lowest nor any of the submissions received.
