This project will design a twelve inch water main from Columbus Avenue to the Route 9 railroad bridge and from Old Littleworth Road to the Spaulding Turnpike This will create versatility in water flows for wells in this section of the city in the event of a water break. This project will replace a 1935 vintage 8-inch cast iron water main that is in poor shape and has reduced capacity. A new 12-inch water main will be installed from the intersection of Columbus Avenue out to connect to the Hughes Well. This will improve flow and impression, and also improve reliability of the water distribution system. As of December 12, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2024-2029 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction FY 2026. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
