As of December 6, 2023, per the owner, this project is being completed through a job order contract. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: This project will repurpose existing spaces, creating new galleries and interactive public spaces, new offices, and a relocation of the museum entrance at the i.d.e.a. Musuem.The proposed renovations may include: o Relocating the main office space on the first floor to the warehouse which would open additional exhibit space.
o A redesign of the second-floor offices and exterior atrium.
o A relocation of the main entrance.
o Adding new classrooms, gift shop, and cafe spaces.
o The addition of a roof top terrace and skywalk. The scope may include design renderings and presentations to City Executive staff. Pending the results of the 15% design, the project will be developed in phases to complete the overall renovation of the Museum. Construction of the first phase is scheduled for Fall of 2022. The City of Mesa shall not be held responsible for any verbal instructions. Any changes to this Request for Qualifications will be in the form of an addendum.
