Site work for a water / sewer project in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The City of Richmond is accepting bids for the rehabilitation of the Rattlesnake Creek Stream Restoration project to provide general contracting services that include, but are not limited to preventing erosion, restoring habitat, and improving water quality function of the stream. The approximate length is 1600 LF. Work under this bid can include the following; 1. Modifying the grade of the existing Rattlesnake Creek Stream (top of bank, toe of slope, etc.) 2. Demolition and removal of existing trees, stone, and miscellaneous debris. 3. Installation of in-stream structures such as J-hooks, cross vanes and coir logs. 4. Landscaping and restoration of all disturbed areas. 5. Coordination of the utility pole relocation as required. The pole and utility relocation may include other utilities than Dominion energy. Costs will be not be the contractors responsibility. 6. The existing foot bridge shall be removed by the property owner prior to construction beginning. All bidders shall provide the following documented experience with their bid submittal: 1. All proposed supervising personnel shall have completed 2,000 lf of stream restoration 2. The company has completed 5,000 lf of stream restoration including a stream restoration in a similar urban site. The Rattlesnake Creek Stream Creek Restoration Project consist of providing improvments to the exsiting Rattlesnack Creek Stream. The project site is located between Chippenham Parkway and E. Wayburn Road and is within the existing easement. The project is for a period of 180 consecutive calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed. WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS A. The work to be performed under this Contract shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals and performing all work required to perform stream restoration on a reach of Rattlesnake Creek. The restoration project will be constructed primarily within City owned easements. The project Owner is the City of Richmond B. The purpose of this project is to restore the Rattlesnake Creek stream in an effort to prevent erosion, restore habitat and to earn pollutant removal credits that are applicable to the City of Richmond's TMDL. The Rattlesnake Creek Stream Restoration project includes the partial relocation and restoration of approximately 1600 linear feet of channel. C. The project elements include: clearing and grubbing; tree removal; grading for stream restoration; disposal of excess sediment; the installation of stone cross vanes/j-hooks; the installation of soil reinforcing mat; the installation of rock rip rap; the installation of coir fabric along stream banks, including soil encapsulated lifts (SELs), and revegetation of the stream channels, adjacent riparian areas, and other disturbed areas of the project site. The project also includes maintenance of traffic, dewatering, bypass pumping and sediment and erosion control as required for project construction. All work shall be performed as shown on the Drawings indicated and as specified in the Contract Documents.
