The work included in the Contract shall consist primarily of the following approximate items: Placement of concrete and timber pilings, timber decking construction, concrete walkways, timber pedestrian access ramp, concrete foundation, plumbing, and electrical hookups. The above general outline of work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein. The attention of bidders is directed to the Contract Provisions governing selection and employment of labor. Minimum wage rates for Federal-Aid projects have been predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and are subject to Public Law 87-581 Work Hours Act of 1962, as set forth in the Contract Provisions. The City of Bay St. Louis, of Hancock County, hereby notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, Disadvantaged and Womens Business Enterprises will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. Bids must be submitted upon the standard forms contained within these contract documents furnished by City Engineer, noted in the Information for Bidders. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check on a solvent bank or a Bidder’s Bond issued by a Surety Company licensed to operate in the State of Mississippi, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total base bid price, payable to the City of Bay Saint Louis as bid security. Bidders shall also submit a current financial statement, if requested by the City. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Bids shall be deposited with the City of Bay Saint Louis, Bay Saint Louis Conference Center, 598 Main Street, Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi 39520, or for those interested, bids can be electronically. All interpretations of drawings and specifications shall be directed in writing to Jason Chiniche at James J. Chiniche P.A. Inc. via email at jason@jjc-eng.com. An acknowledged received copy of all Addenda issued by the Engineer via Plan House must be included with the bid proposal. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the date of actual bid opening without Owners consent. The City of Bay Saint Louis reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any or all informalities. Work to be performed shall be in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local Regulations and Codes.
